One thing we noticed when trying out different services was that a majority was aiming for a very broad and diverse customer base, making them a little bit less helpful and in some cases overwhelming to start using. This is probably our most important takeaway when creating Pixigon. Our mission is to be the best fit for our users, not good enough for everyone.

It's not as expensive as you might think

The fact that there is a lot of competition not only drives functionally and user experience, it also puts pressure on pricing. If you combine that with the fact that most services are do-it-yourself services you often get a compelling price, especially if you compare it to using a professional studio.

One thing to bear in mind is that even if the price tag is low, make sure that the service you choose is easy to use and fits you. For most of us, time is money, and you don't want to spend time scratching your head and cursing a non-intuitive user interface.

Creating a video may sharpen your offer

One thing that is hard, regardless of what service you go for, is to condense and distill your message. In the common case you will probably only have 30-60 seconds (good fit for an explainer video) to present your case.

The flip side of it is that you probably will benefit from this process in other parts of your marketing as well. It’s not that uncommon that you want to revisit your homepage to enhance your message when you have pinpointed what you want to highlight in your video.
